Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or otherwise using the ShowUp mobile app or website (the "Services"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.

2. Who can use ShowUp

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has reviewed these terms. Some features (paid subscriptions, marketplace listings) may have a higher minimum age.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us at hello@showupauto.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

One account per person. Don't impersonate other builders, brands, or event organizers. If you represent a business, claim its directory listing rather than creating a personal account in the business's name.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use ShowUp to:

• Spam, scrape, or commercialize community content without consent.
• Harass, threaten, or dox other members.
• Post hate speech, sexually explicit content, or illegal material.
• List events, builds, or businesses you don't have the right to promote.
• Run automated traffic, brute-force account credentials, or exploit security flaws.
• Resell paid features or share a paid account across multiple users.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. For repeat offenders, suspensions are permanent.

5. Your content

You own the builds, posts, photos, reviews, and check-ins you publish on ShowUp ("Your Content"). By posting it you grant ShowUp a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it within the Services and in marketing of the Services (e.g. featured builds on social media). You can revoke this license at any time by deleting the content or your account, except where we've already shared a public link or where another user has reposted with attribution.

You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to anything you upload — especially photos of someone else's vehicle.

6. Calculators are estimates

The ShowUp calculators are educational tools that surface industry-standard formulas. Their output is a starting point, not engineering documentation. Always verify sub-box volumes, port lengths, wire gauges, alternator capacities, fuse ratings, and battery sizing against your specific equipment manufacturer's data sheet before installing.

We are not responsible for damage to your vehicle, fire, hearing loss, electrical failure, or any other harm caused by reliance on calculator output.

7. Business directory disclaimer

Businesses listed in the ShowUp directory are listed for convenience. ShowUp does not endorse, certify, or warrant the work of any listed business — including Featured Partners and paid Title Sponsors. Reviews are user-generated and we don't fact-check them. Talk to other builders, ask for references, and inspect work before paying.

8. Forum & community content

Forum posts, trail check-ins, and public builds reflect the views of their authors, not ShowUp. We do not pre-moderate every post. Use the in-app report function for content that violates these terms and we'll review it within 72 hours.

9. Paid features & advertising

Paid plans (subscriptions, boosted listings, banners) are billed in advance. Cancel any time — the plan stays active through the billed period and then ends without further charge. Refunds are issued on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of charge.

10. Intellectual property

"ShowUp," the orange "S" mark, and the calculator engine code are property of JS-Alternators LLC. You may screenshot results for personal use, link to ShowUp pages, and discuss the platform freely. You may not copy our brand or rehost the calculator engine.

11. Third-party links

ShowUp surfaces links to partner stores (Shopify storefronts, Amazon, Sonic Electronix, Crutchfield, and others) and to event organizer websites. We are not responsible for the content, pricing, or fulfillment on those third-party sites. When you tap an affiliate link we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculator outputs are accurate for any particular vehicle or installation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, ShowUp's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Services is capped at the greater of (a) $100 USD or (b) the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost data, lost business, or vehicle damage.

14. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → "Delete account." We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or where required by law. Sections 5 (license you grant), 6 (calculator disclaimer), 12 (warranties), 13 (liability), and 16 (governing law) survive termination.

15. Changes to these terms

We'll update the "Last updated" date whenever these terms change. For material changes we'll also send an in-app notice 30 days before they take effect so you can review or delete your account first.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah, except where local law gives you a non-waivable right to sue in your home jurisdiction.
