A 13,500-acre open-riding area in the volcanic cinder fields northeast of Flagstaff, on the Coconino National Forest. Deep black cinder gives traction unlike anything else in Arizona, and elevation keeps it usable through summer. Open riding is allowed within the designated boundary.
