Wharton State Forest

The largest tract in the New Jersey Pinelands, laced with sugar-sand roads open to registered street-legal vehicles. Deep sand and water-filled dips are the main hazards — recovery straps get used regularly. Off-road driving away from designated roads is prohibited and actively enforced.
